4 Easy Step Process
Do not eat, drink, smoke or clean your teeth for at least 30 minutes prior to collection.
Read the instructions on the guideline leaflet provided. Fill and sign the consent form.
Fill in the information on the white envelope for each person participating in the test.
Please note: the steps outlined below are for our at home tests only. If you have ordered a legally admissible or immigration test you must have your samples collected by a medical professional at our laboratory.
Step 1
Peel open the swab packet and remove the swab without touching the round head. Only hold the swab by the plastic handle. Place the swab head inside the mouth and rub it firmly on the inside of the cheek and along the gum line. Do this for about 15-30 seconds on each side of the mouth.
Young children can at times not be willing to cooperate, so try and make a game out of it, like pretending to check if their teeth are clean!
Step 2
Air dry the sample by waving it in the air or placing it inside a open container with the swab facing up for at least 5 minutes. Do not touch the swab head where the sample has been deposited.
Step 3
Once dry, place the swab inside the labeled sample envelope for that person. Seal the envelope. Samples can remain at room temperature following collection.Repeat the process for all individuals being tested.
Step 4
Place all the sample envelopes and the consent form in the big envelope labeled with our address. Mail it back to us with the trusted courier that we sent the collection kit through.
